Ep451: Tom Monaghan (1001 Album Complaints. The Chop, The Beverly Crushers)
Stay Puft is a Ghostbusters themed concept record by the music collective known as The Chop. These are the same guys responsible for The Beverly Crushers (a Star Trek The Next Generation themed concept band that Rob Kassees was on for), and Ghostbeef, a post-apocalyptic concept record about the fast food chain Arby's. Tom doesn't just play bass for these wild conceptual records, but he's also part of the pantheon of the increasingly popular 1001 Album Complaints podcast. Where Classic albums' from the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die book are given full backstories told by musicians who love to mercilessly nitpick the details. Conan has been a guest on this great show before and will again. This is a deep dive into all things Ghostbusters and a detailed song by song breakdown of the record. Why not? The title of this very show was inspired by the movie!
